Date of birth

December 14 of 1987

Iurii was born in Zaporizhia. During his studies on historic faculty of local university, he began to cooperate with local patriotic organizations. He was organizing events of remembrance of Ukrainian Insurgent Army during the years, when in Zaporizhia, with its strong Soviet ideological narratives, it was even dangerous.

During Viktor Yanukovich presidency, Hudymenko, along with other patriotic activists of Zaporizhia, was arrested and detained: someone blew off the local monument of Stalin. When detectives found proofs, that he wasn’t involved in this case, they arrested him for pouring the paint onto monument of Felix Dzerzhinskiy, the leading organizer of Red Terror during Bolshevic revolution (truth to be told, is this case Iurii, actually, was involved). He got two-years probation (the sentence was reviewed and cancelled after Maydan Revolution of Dignity).

After that Hudymenko left activism and began five year long career in regional media - from journalist to editor-in-chief and top manager.

In 2016 year he became a main agitator of local organization of Solydarnost party. In 2017 he moved to Kyiv with his girlfriend Nataliya and her son from previous marriage. 

In Kyiv Hudymenko worked in many national media: TSN, Focus, Peter and Mazeppa, a number of radio stations. He was the initiator of Memory Bell project - installation of the bell in front of Ukrainian Ministry of Defense that rings every day in the memory of fallen soldiers.

Iurii dislikes all aspects of “Russian World” geopolitical project, particularly pro-Russian separatists and fanatics of Moscow Patriarchy. He is capable of non-standard creative actions to make other people dislike them too and to make their lives a bit less comfortable.
